Yesterday Microsoft released a hotfix that’s a big collection of fixes for slow boot and slow login on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. After running Windows update on a DC, it only came up in Safe mode. Logs showed no major errors, so should be no reason for it to do so.
