Oh yes it is possible to send PowerShell Cmdlets from the awesome Microsoft gaming console.
I actually use the browser to connect (HTTPS) to the PowerShell Web Access Gateway.
Here are the requirements:
- PowerShell Web Access Gateway server running on Windows 2012 or newer
- Target machines needs to have WINRM enabled.
- Not required but you probably want to buy an wireless keybord for your Xbox
Here is a quick step by step on how to install the PSWA in a lab environment. For production I recommend this guidance on technet which will go more into tthe details on how to setup SSL with external CA or internal PKI for PowerShell Web Access Gateway.
- Install the feature
Install-WindowsFeature WindowsPowerShellWebAccess –IncludeManagementTools
- Install the IIS Web Application using a selfsigned certificate
Install-PswaWebApplication –WebApplicationName “pswagateway” –Usetestcertificate
- Add authorization rule
Add-PswaAuthroizationRule –UserGroupName ‘domainPSRemoteUserGroup’ –ComputerGroupName domaincomputername’ –ConfigurationName Microsoft.powershellAnd you are good to go!
