I was going to use Johan Arwidmark’s hydration script to get a lab going. Johan Arwidmark’s hydration script is explained in detail here: http://deploymentresearch.com/Research/Post/407/The-Hydration-Kit-for-System-Center-2012-R2-is-available-for-download
To get the hydration going you will have to download many files as explained in the article from Johan (Visual C++, SQL Express etc). In order to streamline the downloads a little, I organized a quick script for faster download of these necessary files. This script reads from a CSV file and you can easily add or remove things from the CSV. I am not able to add ISO files into the CSV file, since you have to register to download those (Windows 7, full sql, Configmgr etc).
I have created two variants of the script. One manual version and one online version.
The online version you can kick off directly from Powershell with this one-liner (Just copy and paste the line into Powershell and the downloading starts):
IEX (New-Object Net.WebClient).DownloadString(‘https://goo.gl/N0XK6f’); Download-PreHydrationFiles
(The url is shortened. Actual url is https://raw.githubusercontent.com/api0cradle/PowershellScripts/master/Hydration/Pre-Hydration-Download-RunFromGit.ps1)
If you want to use the manual version, you just have to download the files Pre-Hydration-Download.ps1 and Pre-HydrationFiles.csv and save them to the c:\downloads folder. The files can be found here: https://github.com/api0cradle/PowershellScripts/tree/master/Hydration (remember to use the RAW button to download the files correctly)
If you want, you can add and remove items from the CSV files as you like. Hope you find this useful and I hope that it will save some precious time for you.
Remember that I have done limited testing on these scripts and I give no guarantees.
