A quick post about a little detail I noticed here the other day.
I don’t know if you have noticed it, but there is a little difference on the file system in the RTM version of Windows 10 and the 1511 version.
If you download both ISOs from Microsoft (RTM and 1511) and mount them and look inside the install.wim file you will notice something strange on root of the drive:
On the RTM version you have the «Documents and Settings» folder and that folder is gone in the 1511 version.
In the 1511 version there is an extra folder named «Logs». This folder and content can be deleted as far as I know. The folder contains Windows Event logs.
I have not had the time to compare everything in the file system in terms of difference between the two versions, I just thought the Logs folder was «sticking» out. There is possible a good reason that this folder is present, but I do not know why.
Btw: I did not find anything interesting inside the logs. 😉
