Often you need to copy a script or a file to your active RDP session. There are several ways to accomplish this. One way is to map the C$ share of the server and copy it. Another way is to make sure that local drives are checked in the RDP client like this:
But the coolest option to copy files are new to 2008 / 2008R2. Lets say we want to copy script1.vbs from local computer to the server. The first thing I do is to right click the .vbs file and select copy. Okay, are you ready for my next move? Then go back to my RDP session and right click on the desktop and select paste. Voila, that simple. So you can just copy files like you normally would on your local computer. This will only work if you are working on a Windows Vista/Windows 7 machine, and if the Clipboard is selected in the RDP client:
