Had a funny experience with a VM when installing windows server from an ISO file. I had to start a console session from another server and re-mount the ISO from the local drive. Look at the error message when you disconnect the ISO. There is no disk in the drive….
I was also curios if the A: was actually a floppy station so I had to enumerate all the stations. I did it with this command:
To open up a CMD you have to press SHIFT+F10. Not like when you are deploying with SCCM or MDT where the hotkey is F8.
As you can see the A: is actually a Drivetype of value 2. This means fixed. So the setup.exe uses the A: for something mysterious. If it was a floppy it would have stated 1. (Removable)
I am not able to browse it either. It states device not ready.
